MALIKI ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY–The spirit of perseverance is proven by Maulana Adisaputra Alwiansyah, student of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, who successfully won 1st place in the Adult Open Category in the Malang City Silat Championship held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at GOR Ken Arok. This achievement feels even more special because he continued to compete despite suffering a sprained wrist before the competition began.
Maulana's participation in this event was not only to pursue victory but also to gain experience in the world of Pencak Silat, which has long been his hobby. His passion and love for Silat were the main reasons he was able to perform at his best in the competition arena. “My motivation for participating in this competition is to gain experience and become a champion, because Silat has indeed become my hobby,” he stated.
To achieve the best results, Maulana underwent intensive training four times a week with full dedication and discipline. This hard work ultimately yielded proud results for both him and his beloved campus. Even though he was haunted by a sprained wrist before the match, Maulana remained determined to step into the arena and gave his best performance. His fighting spirit successfully led him to become the champion in the competition. “My wrist was sprained, but I was still able to hold on until the match was over,” he said.
This victory became a valuable experience and a joyful moment for Maulana. He also conveyed an inspirational message that every victory is due to the help of Allah SWT. “I feel very happy because I gained an extraordinary experience. My message is, there is no victory except with the help of Allah,” he concluded gratefully.
