The Department of Biology, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, is established as an educational institution that integrates academic excellence with Islamic values. With a vision to become an excellent and internationally reputable department in the application of biological sciences through the integration of science and Islam for sustainable management of biological resources, the department is committed to producing graduates who are competent, well-rounded, and capable of making meaningful contributions to society. The implementation of an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum in academic activities is designed not only to emphasize theoretical mastery but also to develop practical skills, research capabilities, and readiness to face global challenges. Graduates of the Department of Biology are awarded the Bachelor of Science (S.Si.) degree and are prepared for careers as early-career researchers in biology and biotechnology, laboratory analysts, environmental specialists, educators and academics, as well as entrepreneurs in bioresource-based sectors.
Master’s Program in Biology
Master’s Program in Biology at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang is a distinguished graduate program designed to address the challenges of modern biological sciences while meeting the demands of the professional world. Department of Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry under the Faculty of Science and Technology at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang is located on the 2nd floor of the B.J. Habibie Building, Campus 1, Jl. Gajayana No. 50, Malang, East Java. The department was established based on the recommendation of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education No. 3445/D/T/2002 (November 20, 2002), formally authorized through the Decree of the Directorate General of Islamic Institutions No. DJ.II/59/2003 (April 24, 2003), and began admitting students in the 2003/2004 academic year. With a vision to become an internationally reputable department in mastering and applying chemical sciences in the fields of halal products, phytopharmaceuticals, energy, and the environment through the integration of science and Islamic values, the department remains committed to producing chemists of Ulul Albab character.

Department of Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang is a higher education institution with a scientific vision “to become an internationally reputable department in the development of mathematical theory and its applications through strengthened computational approaches that integrate science and Islamic values.” The department primarily focuses on advancing both theoretical and applied mathematics, particularly through computational mathematics grounded in the integration of science and Islamic principles, making it distinctive in its approach. Its curriculum is designed not only to emphasize intellectual excellence in pure and applied mathematics but also to incorporate computational methods for problem-solving, while aligning these competencies with a strong foundation of spiritual and religious values.
Department of Informatics Engineering
The Department of Informatics Engineering (Undergraduate Program) at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, under the Faculty of Science and Technology, is committed to producing outstanding graduates in the field of information technology through the integration of informatics knowledge and Islamic values in every aspect of the learning process. The curriculum is designed to be adaptive to the rapid development of the digital industry and the demands of national technological transformation, covering key areas such as software engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, computer networks, and intelligent systems. Students are equipped with strong analytical, programming, and system design skills aligned with industry needs, supported by an Outcome-Based Education framework that corresponds to the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework. In addition, the program emphasizes the development of essential soft skills, including communication, collaboration, and problem-solving, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to compete at both national and international levels.
Master's Program of Informatics Engineering
Master Program of Computer Science (Magister Informatika) aims to produce high qualified human resources and advanced research in Information Technology based on the values of Al-Qur’an and Al-Hadits. Learning materials for the master program consist of the core of Computer Science subject and universities subjects. The materials of Computer Science subjects compose more than 77% of learning activities which cover class courses and research activities. Expertise developed in this program intelligent system, software engineering, information system, computer network, and datamining. The students are also equipped with the capability to recognize and deploy the values of Al-Qur’an and Al-Hadits in order to enrich the development of Information Technology.
Department of Library and Information Science

The Department of Library and Information Science is dedicated to producing information professionals who are not only proficient in technology-based information management but also uphold strong moral integrity, resulting in graduates who excel intellectually and possess profound spiritual depth. Studying in this department means preparing to become a professional who is relevant to the demands of the times. The Department of Architecture at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang was established on January 23, 2004, and has continued to grow as a distinctive architecture program characterized by the integration of scientific knowledge and Islamic values. Department of Civil Engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang implements an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum that emphasizes the achievement of graduate competencies aligned with the demands of the workforce and the advancement of the modern construction industry. In addition, the department actively cultivates a productive research culture as a key component of academic excellence, with research conducted by faculty members and students spanning various areas of civil engineering, focusing on sustainable infrastructure development, environmentally friendly construction technologies, disaster risk mitigation, and the application of digital technologies in civil engineering. Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering Study Program of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang has a total of 69 courses, including 2 elective courses designed to provide flexibility and deepen students' interests and competencies in the field of mechanical engineering. The total study load that must be taken by students during the study period is 146 credits, consisting of compulsory university, faculty, and study program courses.
Department of Electrical Engineering
The Electrical Engineering Study Program is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. It focuses on the development of electrical, electronics, control systems, and IoT technologies integrated with Islamic values. The OBE-based curriculum is tailored to the needs of industry and current technology.
Department of Environmental Engineering
The Environmental Engineering Study Program exists in response to the increasingly complex global challenges in the environmental sector.
